Rosa Escutia-Braaton
Regional Member, Central | City of Modesto
Rosa Escutia-Braaton was elected Councilmember for the City of Modesto in 2020 and appointed vice-mayor in March 2021. She represents the interests of more than 220,000 residents of the City of Modesto, advocating for smart community planning and development that leads to a vibrant economy, cleaner streets, and safer neighbourhoods.
Prior to her election, Councilmember Escutia-Braaton was appointed to Modesto’s Planning Commission in 2014, where she served for seven years as a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility and smart growth. Additionally, she worked in the public and private sectors for over 25-years in executive positions, including serving as a Gubernatorial Appointee under Governors Davis and Schwarzenegger as Director of Pubic Relations for the California State Lottery and the Director of Communications for the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
Her knowledge and strong community focus has motivated her involvement in several organizations including; but not limited to First VP Central Valley League of Cities, Latino Community Roundtable, Stanislaus County Of Governments, American Leadership Forum, FBI Citizens Academy, and Chairman of the Board for the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
